Call the turkey experts
Thanksgiving is one week from today, and if you are worried about cooking your turkey, the Butterball Turkey Talk-line is ready to help.
The turkey experts have fielded more than three-million phone calls over the years. One of the most popular questions is how to thaw a turkey; a process that can take several days. That is why today is National Thaw Day.
“We want to make sure that they keep the turkey cold at all times, so either thaw in the refrigerator or in a sink of cold water. Then once it’s thawed, put it back in the refrigerator if you used the cold water method. But that’s a real popular question. It’s really important to make sure it’s thawed, because then it’ll cook properly,” said Marty Vanness from the Butterball Turkey Talk-line.
If you are looking to save money on your holiday feast, the experts suggest sharing the meal with other people and have everyone bring a different dish to spread out the cost.
