Canadian glass-tech firm announces major Wilmington expansion

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY-TV) – A new high-tech glass manufacturing company plans to expand its operations in Wilmington.

Advanced Glazings is a Canadian-based company that specializes in glass insulation and natural light diffusion.

The manufacturer plans to build a new campus in the Wilmington area in the near future.

The campus will include two other tech companies Protocase and 45 Drives. Doug Milburn is the entrepreneur behind all three companies which already have local offices.

“We’ve had such success coming to Wilmington it’s a great place to live, great place to be and it’s got great human resource with UNCW and Cape Fear Community College,” Milburn said.

All three companies plan to hire more than 500 people in the coming years.
