Cape Fear Fair and Expo opens for 2017 season


WILMINGTON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, NC (WWAY) — The area fair is back and bigger than ever this year.

The Cape Fear Fair & Expo takes over the grounds of Wilmington International Airport with rides, games, animals and endless amounts of food.

This year it runs from Friday, October 27 through Sunday, November 5. Hours are Monday through Thursday: 5-11 p.m., Friday: 5 .p.m-Midnight, Saturday: Noon-Midnight and Sunday: 1-11 p.m.

Tickets are $22 each and include unlimited rides. Walkaround tickets are $5 (available at gate, excludes rides, only valid Monday thru Thursday)

Children under 36 inches can ride selected rides for FREE with a paying adult 16 or older.

Military Appreciation Day is on Saturday, November 4. Active military and veterans, along with up to 3 members of their families, can go to the fair for $15 each with a valid military ID.

Wednesday, November 1 is Preschool Day. The ticket booths and livestock area open at 8:30 a.m. and the midway is open from 9 a.m. to Noon. Entrance is $6 per person (cash or checks preferred) and includes a snack and drink. Preschoolers from 0-5 years of age are welcome. Ticket booths will only be open from 8:30–10:30 a.m. There will be no admission after 10:30 a.m.
