Cape Fear Garden Club to award more than $70,000 in grants to New Hanover County non-profits

WILMINGTON (News Release) — The Cape Fear Garden Club will disburse $77,116.58 to nineteen New Hanover County non-profits on Wednesday, October 25th at 10am.

The list includes:
Burgwin-Wright House and Gardens
Cameron Art Museum
Cape Fear Clinic
Community Enrichment Initiatives, Inc.
Domestic Violence Shelter and Services, Inc.
Eden Village
Alderman Elementary School
Friends School
Girls Leadership Academy of Wilmington
Good Shepherd Center
Grace United Methodist Church
Island Montessori School
Lower Cape Fear Historical Society’s Latimer House
North Carolina Coastal Federation
North Carolina Coastal Land Trust
New Hanover County Parks Conservancy
Pine Valley Elementary School
Rise-UP Community Farm
Winter Park Elementary School

In addition, “standing grants” will be paid to Audubon North Carolina for Battery Island, and scholarships will be given to UNC-Wilmington and Cape Fear Community College, and the Rainy Day Fund for future Azalea Garden Tours. Gift certificates from Johnson’s Farm and Nursery in Willard will also be awarded to each grant recipient.

Sandy Cyphers will make the presentation at the beginning of the general meeting of the Cape Fear Garden Club at the Cape Fear Country Club.

To date, more than one-point-three million dollars have been returned to New Hanover County.
