Cape Fear Kite Festival prepares to take to the skies

KURE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — Kite enthusiast are getting ready to make some sky art on Pleasure Island!

The 12th annual Cape Fear Kite Festival is taking place in Kure Beach November 4th and 5th with hundreds of spectators expected to check out the colorful display.

Organizers say it’s a “fun fly” without competitions or rules to unofficially wrap up the kite-flying year.  The two day event is weather/wind dependent and will be set up in the Fort Fisher State Recreation area in Kure Beach, 10am-4pm.  The event is free and open to the public.
