Cape Fear Latinos Festival celebrates culture and community

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY-TV) — The Cape Fear Latinos Festival took place at Live Oak Bank Pavilion on Saturday. The Fourth annual festival featured lived music, dance, food and activities.

German Chavira and his wife were one of the vendors at the festival and Chavira said it was a way to bring together not only the Latino community but people from various backgrounds.

“Well it’s important like I said to keep up together, because we’re all the same,” Chavira said.

The event was free to attend and kicked off with a parade followed by the festival which took place till 7 pm. The festival was hosted by Cape Fear Latinos which provides social services to the New Hanover County Latino community.
