Cape Fear River bridges scheduled to open during evening rush

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Isabel Holmes Bridge is back open after getting stuck for a short time this morning.

The problem caused some traffic back-ups in the northern part of downtown and on the other side of the river.

That may not be the only issue drivers have to face while traveling between Wilmington and Brunswick County today. The bridge tender says both bridges over the Cape Fear River are scheduled to go up during the evening rush. He says the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge is scheduled to open at 5:30 p.m. followed by the Isabel Holmes opening at 5:40 p.m.
