Cape Fear Academy students spread Thanksgiving cheer

The holidays are about giving and that’s exactly what some Wilmington students did Monday.

Students from Cape Fear Academy spent the day going to door to door spreading holiday cheer with food baskets.

Thirty-six needy families received donated baskets filled with all the trimmings for a perfect Thanksgiving feast.

This is called Project Harvest, a service project developed by one dedicated student.

Cape Fear Academy 10th grader Wic Conn said, “Just the ability to see all the families faces and the kids, it’s just so much more personal than just dropping off a bag of food. Especially around this time it just makes it so much better.”

Families in need were identified through area churches.
