Cape Fear Italian Festival gives back to Brunswick Community College
BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Cape Fear Italian Festival made a hefty donation to Brunswick Community College.
The Cape Fear Italian Festival hosted a celebration for volunteers and sponsors Friday night in Leland.
The festival presented a check to the Brunswick Community College Foundation for $10,125. It also donated $535 to the group Step Up for Soldiers, which supports servicemen and women and veterans returning from war.
BCC President Dr. Stephen Greiner said he’s thrilled about the donation to the school.
“We have so many students in Brunswick County that have a need and want to go to college but for whatever reason can’t afford it the college expense,” Greiner said. “This will give them the opportunity to achieve their dream.”
Despite the rain on the second day of the festival last month, organizers say it was a huge success this year thanks to all the sponsors, volunteers and guests from the community.
