Car auction flexes muscles at Convention Center
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The new Wilmington Convention Center is hosting a heavy-duty event. Muscle car enthusiasts and people who just like to dream are hanging around the facility this weekend.
A change in South Carolina law forced the show out of Myrtle Beach, but Sean Fogelson, co-owner of Muscle Car Auctions Inc., is excited to be one of the first events in the newest building downtown.
“Brand new convention center, brand new auction. We’re expecting the best,” Fogelson said, “and we just want to have a good time, and hopefully, you know, we just want this to be the most successful thing we can do.”
Fogelson said there are cars and motorcycles ranging from $7,500 to $250,000. He also said southeastern north carolina is a good market for muscle cars because there’s a lot of “old money.”
If you’re interested in buying or just looking, the show goes on until 8 p.m. Friday and is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. tomorrow.
