Car hits house near Cape Fear Memorial Bridge

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A car hit a house near the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge Tuesday afternoon after witnesses say another car ran a red light. It happened just after noon.

Witnesses tell WWAY a silver car heading west on Wooster ran a red light at 3rd Street heading toward the bridge. They say it hit a gold car that had a green light heading south on 3rd Street. The impact forced the gold car into a house next to Burger King.

Witnesses say crews took three people to the hospital and that there may have been one child among the patients transported.

Emergency crews had the scene cleared and all lanes of traffic moving around 1 p.m.
