Car crashes into local pre-school

A Wilmington daycare center had a close call late Thursday afternoon after a car crashed into Young Parents and Infant Pre-school.

The crash occurred when Ernestine Bowman who was headed north on 17th Street when Darryl Hobson, heading east on Queen Street, failed to yield at a stop sign.

Joseph Small, who witnessed the event said, “After it was all done you couldn’t see any thing. One car was in to the telephone pole, the other in the daycare center.”

Both drivers had minor injuries. Hobson was released from the hospital and was ticketed for failure to yield.

The owner of the pre-school was getting the kids ready to go home in the back of the building.

No one from the pre-school was injured.
