Carolina Beach needs volunteers for hurricane season
CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) — The Town of Carolina Beach is looking for people to help out in the event of a hurricane hitting close to home this year.
Town officials are taking applications for Hurricane Volunteers for the 2017 season. You can pick up an application at Carolina Beach Town Hall, or downloaded from their website by CLICKING HERE.
Officials say both new and former volunteers must complete the 2017 application package and they will be accepted through May 24, 2017.
Town officials are looking for folks to serve in a variety of roles such as volunteering to man the phones, damage assessment, working the food bank, and distribution and control of goods.
They also ask that all volunteers attend the Hurricane Volunteer meeting being held on Thursday, May 24, 2017 at 6:30 PM at Carolina Beach Town Hall in the Council Chambers.
