Carolina Beach Police Department promotes bicycle awareness and safety
CAROLINA BEACH (WWAY) — The Carolina Beach Police Department hosted a bike rodeo promoting helmet safety.
A Carolina Beach spokesperson says the rodeo started just ten years ago after the state implemented a law requiring children under the age of 16 to wear helmets while riding bikes.
The purpose of the rodeo was to teach kids about bicycle awareness and safety.
Every child who attended the event, left with a free helmet.
