Carolina Panthers to renovate luxury suites
CHARLOTTE, NC (AP) — The Carolina Panthers plan to renovate 158 luxury suites at Bank of America Stadium.
Team President Danny Morrison told The Charlotte Observer that the renovations are part of a five-year plan to improve the stadium.
Morrison says work will start this month and is expected to be completed by mid-June.
He says a major part of the suite renovation will be installing a system to allow the glass and frame on the field side of the suites to slide into the wall, giving those in the suite open access. The renovations include new televisions, carpet and countertops.
Morrison says the team is paying for the renovations. The cost has not been determined.
The city of Charlotte is providing the team with more than $87 million for other stadium renovations.
