Castle Hayne man sentenced to decades in prison for sex crimes involving child

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Castle Hayne man will spend at least 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to multiple sex crimes.

Gregory Paul Riffle, 48, admitted to years of crimes involving a family member who was a minor when the crimes happened. A judge sentenced him to between 20 and 29 years behind bars

Riffle plead guilty to:
3 counts of 1st Degree Sexual Exploitation of a minor
6 counts of 2nd Degree Sexual Exploitation of a minor
3 counts of 3rd Degree Sexual Exploitation of a minor
7 counts of Indecent Liberties with minor
14 counts of 1st Degree Sexual Offense
14 counts of Felony Child Abuse
1 count of having a gun on educational property

When he gets out of prison, Riffle must register as a sex offender for the remainder of his life. He is
also subject to a sexual deviance evaluation, warrantless searches and lifetime satellite-based monitoring.

Riffle is barred from having further contact with the victim.
