Catholic schools hoop it up

It’s rivalry week for two Catholic schools in New Hanover County.

For the fourth year in a row, St. Mary’s and St. Mark’s Catholic schools’ 8th graders played each other in an intense game of basketball.

The game is part of Catholic Schools Week festivities. Every 8th grade student plays, as the 5th through 7th graders cheer them on. The teams are competitive but know it’s all about having fun.

It was a good game for both teams that came down to the last couple seconds. In the end, St. Mary’s pulled out a 28-27 win.
