Celebrate Scottish athletics at Cape Fear Highland Games Saturday
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Crowds will gather Saturday to watch athletes compete in traditional Scottish Athletics at the Cape Fear Highland Games. Events such as tossing the caber, throwing the hammer and much more will be showcased.
Organizer Dennis Mancinelli says it is “an event for the whole family where you can enjoy the games, have some great food and even learn a little about Scottish heritage.”
The event also features live music, and beers ranging from North Carolina craft beers to Bud Light.
The Cape Fear Highland Games is a chance to celebrate Scottish tradition with a gathering of Clans and also to provide support to the MARSOC Foundation which helps active duty and medically retired MARSOC personnel and their families.
Tickets are $10 at the gate and kids under 10 are free. Early-Bird tickets for just $8 are available here.
