Cell phone companies offering charging stations, break from bills in storm aftermath
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Some cell phone companies are offering help to victims of Hurricane Matthew.
U.S. Cellular is providing charging stations, free calls and internet service at retail stores in the area. The company is also waiving all voice and data usage incurred from last Friday through today for many customers who have billing addresses in select eastern North Carolina counties, including Bladen, Brunswick, Columbus, Duplin, New Hanover, Onslow, Pender, Robeson and Sampson.

- 1414 S. College Road, Wilmington
- 1447 Western Blvd., Jacksonville
- 360 Northeast Blvd., Clinton
AT&T says customers in select counties, including all the ones mentioned above, talk, text and data usage from last Friday until tomorrow will not result in overage charges for post-paid customers. AT&T GoPhone customers will have the payment dates extended from Saturday to tomorrow.
