Ceremony scheduled for Vertex railcar sendoff

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A ribbon-cutting is scheduled this week to debut some Vertex Railcar Corporation’s first railcars produced in the Port City.

WWAY was given a sneak peek at some of the produced railcars last week. The ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. and includes a visit from partners China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation.

Wilmington Mayor Bill Saffo, NCDOT Secretary Nick Tennyson and Vertex CEO Donald Croteau will be in attendance along with other area leaders.
