CFCC offering new Coding Course next month

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Cape Fear Community College will introduce a new Continuing Education course for students interested in learning basic computer programming skills and problem solving methods.

The class starts in April.

Introduction to Coding will cover topics such as syntax, data types, program organization, algorithm design, and logic control structures. This is the first computer programming course offered through CFCC’s Continuing Education department. The department prepares individuals for employment and develops skills for workers who are already employed.

Melissa Watson, Chair of CFCC’s Business and Technologies department, will teach the course. “I am very excited to be facilitating a continuing education course in Introduction to Coding this spring,” Watson said. “The course will give students a taste of what a career in the technology industry is like and add to their skillset.”

Introduction to Coding will be offered at CFCC’s North Campus in Castle Hayne April 4-May 2 on Tuesdays from 6:00-9:00 p.m. The course will be taught in a hybrid format where students will meet face-to-face for three hours each week and will complete some coursework online. Click here to register..
