CFCC students construct dog houses to donate
CASTLE HAYNE, NC (WWAY) — It’s final exam season for many college students but one group of students is using that time to give back to the community.
CFCC carpentry students spent the day working on their final project, building dog houses to donate to local shelters.
Student Ryan Wyatt says the program teaches more than just building things.
“You’re gonna build things, you’re gonna work with your hands, but it’s important to build things for other people, not just build stuff and put it in your own home,” said Wyatt.
All the houses were built with recycled wood. Next semester the students will move on to bigger things by building a classroom building.
