CASTLE HAYNE, NC (WWAY) — Cape Fear Community College will host a career exploration event next month designed to introduce prospective students to its career and technical education programs while connecting them with local employers.

The Trade Up Career Exploration event is scheduled for Tuesday, July 14, from 4 to 6 p.m. at CFCC’s North Campus, located at 4500 Blue Clay Road in Castle Hayne.

The free event will feature hands-on demonstrations, open labs and opportunities for attendees to speak with instructors about career and technical education programs offered by the college.

Local employers and industry partners will also be on hand to discuss workforce needs, current job opportunities and careers in skilled trades and technical fields.

Representatives from CFCC’s Student Services division will be available to assist prospective students with admissions applications, FAFSA completion, residency determination, scholarship opportunities and class registration.

“Trade Up Career Exploration provides a one-stop opportunity for prospective students to explore the many career and technical programs available at CFCC, experience hands-on learning environments, and connect directly with the instructors and support teams who can help them take the next step toward their future,” said Erin Easton, CFCC vice president of economic and workforce development and career and technical education.

Attendees may arrive at any time during the event to explore programs, ask questions and learn more about training opportunities available through the college.

Those interested in attending can register in advance through CFCC’s events website.
