CFCC to release documents on arts center performances
WILMINGTON, NC (StarNewsOnline.com) — After multiple media outlets, including the StarNews, made public records requests for documentation associated with Cape Fear Community College’s Humanities and Fine Arts Center and the performances scheduled during its inaugural season, school officials announced they would release the documents in the coming days.
At the CFCC Board of Trustees regular meeting Thursday, CFCC President Amanda Lee addressed the media requests and said the college is committed to transparency in its operations.
Center Director Shane Fernando told the board some performers could interpret the release as a breach of contract and could decide to cancel, but Lee stated that the college’s legal team had determined the documents did not have sufficient legal status to prevent their release.
