CFCC Celebrates Constitution Day
WILMINGTON — Cape Fear Community College marked Constitution Day with a celebration outside the Galehouse building.
The event was open to the public. Faculty and other college officials spoke about the importance of the Constitution in today’s society. The group then read the preamble together.
CFCC student Sherri Vogt said, “It’s great that they can provide this kind of thing for the students. It gets us aware of many things that are going on and what the different people in our college community feel about the Constitution and their beliefs on it.”
Vogt said hearing what was said at the ceremony reaffirmed her beliefs in the Constitution.
The Constitution was signed on September 17, 1787.
