CFCC charts course for Build-a-Boat event

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Faculty, staff and students at Cape Fear Community College have been working furiously on boat kits that will be used in the 11th annual CFCC Build-a-Boat event on July 24.

The event is open to the public. It allows teams of amateur boat builders to build their own boat in just one day. All the teams are guided by a student boat building mentor.

Proceeds from the Build-a-Boat event will benefit student scholarships at CFCC. Boat building experience is not necessary. The cost to sign up is $450, and you get to keep the boat when you’re finished.
