CFCC dean receives award

WILMINGTON — Cape Fear Community College’s Dean of Vocational and Technical Education just received the state community college system’s staff member of the year award.

Bob Philpott received the prestigious award honoring outstanding service and dedication.

Only one faculty member in the state receives the award each year.

Instead of keeping the $8,000 cash prize Philpott plans to use the money to begin a scholarship at CFCC.
