CFCC opens parking deck

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Finding parking just got easier for Cape Fear Community College students and weekend visitors to Downtown Wilmington. This morning CFCC cut the ribbon to officially open its parking deck at Nutt and Front Streets.

Students will pay between $10 and $20 per semester to park depending on their credit hours. The deck has five levels with nearly 400 spaces, including eight handicapped spaces. It also has an extra feature to help students and staff find parking.

“It feeds into our college’s computer system, so that we know automatically if a student is a valid student,” CFCC Parking Coordinator Lynn Sylvia said. “It will keep count of how many spaces that are available, so that way you don’t have students or employees driving through for 30 minutes trying to find a space.”

The deck is on a first-come, first-served basis for students and staff.

Starting in two weeks, the public can park for a dollar an hour after 5 p.m. on Fridays until 6 a.m. on Mondays.
