CFEDC Presents: Biofuel production and distribution in the Cape Fear region
WILMINGTON, NC (NEWS RELEASE) – We are privileged to bring to you a panel of three local biofuel experts to discuss technology, opportunities and obstacles to local biofuel research and development, manufacturing and distribution. In the current rapidly developing market for alternative fuels, these experts are positioned to provide insights in the potential future impact of biofuel on our local economy
* Shar Olivier – A principal of Biofuel Advance Research and Development, LLC. (BARD). BARD is building the first full composite plant in the north east region of the United States. Could such a plant be built here?
* Matthew Collogan – Founder of Cape Fear Biofuels, currently Environmental Education Program Manager at Airlie Gardens. Matt has worked at a grassroots level to develop the local biofuel market. What obstacles does he see to greater use of this alternative fuel in our region?
* Dr. Kimberly Jones – Founder of Alganomics, LLC. Alganomics is producing biofuel from algae on a small scale in Oak Island. Are there specific advantages to undertaking this type of R&D in our region, and what is the likelihood that algae-based fuels will enter our local fuel distribution channels?
