Chadbourn woman arrested following hit and run

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A Chadbourn woman has been arrested following a hit and run.

Candy Lee Herring, 47, was arrested on Wednesday.

According to an arrest warrant, Herring left the scene of a crash near the intersection of North Elm Street and East 1st Avenue in Chadbourn that seriously injured two men in an SUV.

The warrant goes on to say that Herring did not give her contact information to the SUV’s owner following the crash, and that she kicked an officer in the groin.

Herring is charged with driving while impaired, felony hit and run causing serious injury or death, hit and run leaving the scene causing property damage, assault inflicting serious injury, and resisting a public officer.
