Charges filed in boating accident

Castle Hayne — James Yost III, 35, of Castle Hayne, is the registered owner of the Hydrasport boat that hit the Figure Eight Island bridge last Monday night. He is charged with boating while impaired and reckless and negligent operation of a boat.

Two other people were on the boat with Yost. They each had broken bones from the accident.

Yost is scheduled to appear in court in September. The investigator handling the case says there is more than $8,000 in damage to the Figure Eight Island bridge.
