Child bitten by “marine animal” at Wrightsville Beach

WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — A child swimming at Wrightsville Beach was bitten by a “marine animal” according to Wrightsville Beach Police. It happened about 4 p.m. off access number 8 near Moore’s Inlet.

Police say the 12-year-old boy from Cary suffered minor abrasions to his left hand. They say they could not determine the type of marine animal.

Ocean Rescue treated the boy, who was later taken to a local clinic by his mother.
