Church van driver charged in deadly wreck

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WWAY) — The driver of the church van involved in a deadly crash has been charged.

Troopers in South Carolina say Marion McLamb was charged with failure to yield the right of way.

That crash killed Rebecca Lynn Dew, 29, of Whiteville. The other 5 people are still recovering at Grand Strand Medical Center.

Officials said the crash involved a church bus out of Nakina in Columbus County and a pick-up truck. The wreck happened around 4 p.m. Tuesday near the intersection of South Carolina 9 and Highway 747 near Loris, South Carolina.
