FIRST ON 3: CIS after school care back on in some Brunswick County schools

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Communities in Schools released a statement late this afternoon saying they will be re-opening their after school programs at Southport, Bellville, and Town Creek Elementary Schools when school starts back on Monday.

This is in response to the community concern about the programs leaving the schools when parents found out earlier this week.

All other CIS programs will operate as normal according to the release. They will continue offering after school programs at Jessie Mae Monroe and Supply Elementary for children in 2nd and 3rd grade and at Cedar Grove and Shallotte Middle.
