City, County leaders to talk about potential sales tax

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — City and County leaders will talk about a potential sales tax legislation Thursday that they say will negatively impact the Cape Fear Region.

Wilmington Mayor Bill Saffo will join Mayors from Carolina Beach, Wrightsville Beach, and Kure beach and New Hanover county leaders to talk about the potential legislation.

Gov. Pay McCrory said the GOP proposal that would redistribute sales tax money from urban counties like New Hanover to more rural counties would raise taxes on millions of people across the state.
