City of Wilmington begins sidewalk repair project
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) – This week the City of Wilmington will start work on a 4-month project to replace and repair damaged sections of sidewalks.
The project will also repair handicap accessible ramps in several areas throughout the city.
City officials say work will begin at the 400 block of Dock Street and move to the 900 block for the next two weeks. After that, work will then move on to Red Cross Street between 4th and McRae streets, Manly Avenue between Johnson Street and Princess Place Drive, 6th Street between Queen and Wright streets, and 4th Street between Dawson and Willard streets.
The project will cost $332,000. More than 2,300 square yards of sidewalk will be replaced and or repaired.
The city says the project is expected to be finished by this winter.
