Wilmington wants public input over city’s trees
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The City of Wilmington wants your input on how to protect, restore, and increase the city’s tree canopy.
The city is holding a meeting Thursday evening from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at City Hall to discuss the project.
Wilmington is one of two cities in the state to be selected by the North Carolina Forest Service to participate in a study looking at how trees can be used to help local waterways.
The city wants to hear ideas about it’s current tree coverage, locations that need more trees, and things that it could be doing to help the trees.
