City Council terminates agreement with Wilmington River Group
The City of Wilmington needs a new hotel developer. At its meeting Tuesday night, City Council voted to terminate an agreement with Wilmington River Group.
The company was supposed to build the Hotel Indigo next to the new convention center. Last month, the city extended the deadline for a sixth time for the group to get a million dollar letter of credit, but the city attorney said it could not get an adequate letter or proof of financing to move forward.
Council plans to meet with the convention center management firm October 5h to figure out what is next.
