Coast Guard rescues boaters along Intracoastal Waterway

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The US Coast Guard Station Oak Island rescued boaters who were in the water after an accident along the Intracoastal Waterway.

According to Brunswick County dispatch, the call came in that a boat hit the channel marker post.

It happened near Channel Marker 71A near Shallotte River around 10:30 a.m.

The coast guard says the boaters are out of the water and are safe.

No word on how many people were on board.
