“Coastal B-U-D-S” celebrates World Down Syndrome Day with Sock Hop
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — “Coastal Bringing Up Down Syndrome” celebrated World Down Syndrome Day with a Rock Your Socks Sock Hop at the Harrelson Center.
The event included a DJ, photo booth and snacks for attendees who were all ready to party it up.
The Wilmington Next Chapter Book Club also hosted a book exchange where attendees were encouraged to bring a book and take a book home with them.
The date 3-21 was chosen to be World Down Syndrome Day to represent the 3 copies of chromosome 21 which cause Down syndrome.
Coastal Buds next event is Down to Move Yoga at the Harrelson Center on Saturday, March 23.
