Coffee shop coming to Wrightsville Beach will serve up beer, wine
WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — A new Wrightsville Beach business got the go-ahead to start setting up shop above South End Surf Shop at a board of alderman meeting last night.
Town Manager Tim Owens says Thursday night’s meeting was a continuation from their last town meeting, after concerns came up about a new coffee shop selling bottled beer and wine. In the end though, the board approved a conditional use permit for the Post Coffee Shop that’ll soon start to take shape.
The new shop will sit above the surf shop at 708 South Lumina Avenue, and Owens says the owner hopes to open the shop’s doors by summer of this year. Based on their business plan, the Post Coffee Shop will serve up smoothies, ice cream, a few food items, beer and wine.
Owens says with the board’s permit approval, there are a few limitations to how the shop will operate. He says there will be no food or beverage service and no music outside the business, and few public parking spaces will be designated for customers.
Though Owens says the town still has to finalize documents before the business opens, the shop’s owners can start construction right away. When it opens, the Post Coffee Shop will be open weekdays from 6 a.m.-10 p.m., Saturdays from 6 a.m.-10 p.m. and Sundays from 6 a.m.-7 a.m.
