Think outside the prehistoric lines and color a dinosaur for the aquarium

FORT FISHER, NC (WWAY) — The North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher is coloring outside prehistoric lines and giving one person a chance to put their twist on the toothy, “DINOSAURS!” exhibit returning to the Aquarium this spring. A fearsome, life-sized stegosaurus will flaunt one-of-a-kind markings created by the winner of an open art contest.

Grab your crayons, paint or other medium, download the Dinosaur Coloring Sheet from and submit your masterpiece by January 24, 2018. Aquarium staff will select the winning color scheme to be unveiled in March. The winner will also receive four (4) general admission tickets to the Aquarium.

“DINOSAURS!” features multiple species of animatronic dinosaurs roaring, spitting and wowing visitors in a natural garden setting. Guests may glimpse a ferocious T-rex family, a menacing Diabloceratops and of course, a colorful stegosaurus, among others. The exhibit will run through September 2018.

Completed coloring sheets may be submitted to the Aquarium by email with the subject line of “Coloring Contest” or by mail to N.C. Aquarium at Fort Fisher, 900 Loggerhead Road, Kure Beach, N.C. 28449. All entries must be received by January 24, 2018. See complete Coloring Contest Rules at
