Columbus Co. Community Farmers Market announces annual poster contest

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Do you know any children who love to show off their artistic talent? Here is their chance.

The Columbus County Community Farmers Market is sponsoring it’s 11th annual poster contest for all public, private and charter school students kindergarten through 5th grade in Columbus County.

This year’s theme is “Know Your Farmers, Know Your Food.”

The posters should highlight the importance of local farm products.. as well as getting to know the people who grow them.

The grand prize is a $50 gift certificate.

A description of the contest, along with requirements, judging criteria and an entry form, is available online at www.columbuscountyfarmersmarket.com.  All entries must be received by 5:00 PM on Monday, March 12, in order to be considered.

Winners will be recognized at the annual Celebrate the Arts program on Saturday, March 24, at East Columbus High School.
