Columbus Co. deputies investigating deadly shooting

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Investigators with the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a homicide.

According to Columbus County assistant coroner William Hannah, 39-year-old Jerome Parrott was killed in a shooting near the 600 block of Pine Circle Drive in Tabor City.

According to a sheriff’s office spokeswoman, deputies responded to a call around 12:30 a.m. in the Tabor City area. They found Parrott dead from a gunshot wound.

Deputies said the investigation is ongoing.
