Columbus Co. man convicted in Christmas 2012 murder


COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A Tabor City man is headed to prison for the rest of his life following a murder conviction.

Napoleon Richard Cooper, 35, shot and killed Gilberto Antonio Segovia, 51, shortly after midnight Christmas Day in 2012. Cooper was found guilty to charges of first degree murder and conspiracy to commit armed robbery on Wednesday.

Segovia was killed in his home in Tabor City. Cooper was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
