Columbus County Animal Shelter AC bid accepted
COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Columbus County Animal Shelter is set to get a new air conditioning system.
According to a release from Animal Shelter Manager Joey Prince, the Columbus County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved to upgrade the air conditioning system. They also approved the bid of $44,496 and Prigden Brothers to complete the project.
The engineering firm was retained to ensure the new system would be able to maintain temperatures below the state mandated 85 degrees.
Their current system wasn’t able to meet the state required temperature on hot sunny days during the summer. Temporary measures were put in place to help alleviate the high temperatures while the bid process was completed.
Animal Control says they will work with the Columbus County Maintenance Department to make sure the project is completely as soon as possible.
