Columbus County Sheriff’s Office investigating shots fired into Riegelwood home

RIEGELWOOD, NC (WWAY) — The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office looking for suspects they believe are responsible for firing shots into a Riegelwood home.

According to the incident report, deputies were called to a home in the 1000 block of Browntown Road just before 5pm on Monday.

A person who was inside the home told investigators a vehicle drove by and began shooting. There were a total of five people in the house when the shots were fired.

Several shots struck the front of the home, but no one was hit by the bullets.

The woman told deputies two men were in the vehicle, but she was unable to identify them.

Multiple shell casings and rounds were recovered from the roadway in front of the residence and one round was found inside the home.

The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation and is asking for anyone with information to contact them.
