Deputies search for trio that robbed store at gunpoint

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Columbus County deputies are investigating an armed robbery at a store last night near Tabor City.

It happened just before 9 p.m. at Norris Country Store at 6088 Swamp Fox Highway East.

Investigators say two women were working when three men came in. They say one man pointed a handgun at the cashier and demanded money.

The suspects ran off toward Shug Norris Road with about $250 from the register.

The only description investigators could provide of the suspect is that all three men were wearing gray hoodies tightened over their face.
