‘Come Through, it’s Lit’ coloring book tour draws path through Port City

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Support the Port, a non-profit in Wilmington that is doing wonderful things for the community, is about to take their unique coloring book ‘Wilmington in Color’ on tour around the Port City. The tour is called ‘Come Through, it’s Lit’.

The Coloring Book is about Wilmington’s African American History, and during the month of February, you can take part in a live reading and question and answer sessions with the creator, Cedric Harrison.

“We’re just trying to do what we can whenever we can,” Harrison said. “We came up with a great brain baby with the coloring book about the African American history here in Wilmington. We’re about to roll right now on the coloring book tour and go to different schools and organizations that have supported the book.”

During the live readings, special guest will take part as well to talk about the rich African American history in the area.

The tour kicks off February 1st at 9:30am at Williston Middle School with NHC Commissioner Jonathan Barfield featured as the guest reader.
