Family visiting from Africa fosters pet

BALD HEAD ISLAND, NC (WWAY) — Dog-gone lucky. A family visiting from another continent is fostering a homeless hound here in hopes of finding it a permanent home.

Two weeks ago, Grady was living on the streets, eating out of dumpsters. Now he is in doggy-paradise. The basset hound/lab mix is spending five weeks living with the Cloud family on Bald Head Island, and you can bet he’s on cloud nine.

“We can enjoy him, but I hope we can make him a great addition to someone’s family,” said Angie Cloud. “And we get nothing but love back from him. It’s just the greatest thing. I wish everybody would do it.”

The Clouds live half the year in the Congo and the other half in Swaziland.

Coming up on WWAY NewsChannel 3 at 6 p.m., we’ll hear more from the Clouds about their vacation foster pup.

Grady and other pets are up for adoption at the Sunburst Foundation. For more information call (910) 622-0011 or e-mail sunburstfoundation@gmail.com.
